Until yesterday, I thought I was going to miss
the 2007 Amazon Sellers' Conference in Seattle,
July 13 - 16, but that is not going to be the
case.
I registered today and do plan to attend.
Depending on your particular situation and
location, I would encourage you to attend as
well. Last year, one of the first
customers of my book and a brand new online
bookseller attended and from what she told me it
was very worthwhile for her. She also made
the trip from the East Coast.
The conference allows many third-party vendors
to display their wares and to give presentations
to everyone in attendance. It also allows
Amazon executives and engineers the opportunity
to not only mingle with the booksellers in
attendance, but to give some informative
presentations.
I cannot say for sure what is in store for us
this year, but last year we got to hold one day
of our conference in the Amazon building with a
fantastic view of Seattle. We were also
given the opportunity to hear from Jeff Bezos
and many of Amazon's VP's.
I understand that it may not be worthwhile for
everyone, particularly those that are far away
from Seattle, but if you are able I would
encourage you to attend. If you do make it
I would really like to meet you. Some of
my customers are already planning some evening
get-togethers, and I plan to attend as many as
possible.
I look forward to seeing you there and please
send me an email if you are going so I can make
a point of meeting you.
