This weekend I was wondering what I could do with
my website to make it fun as well as being a resource for online
booksellers. The one thing we all have in common is books, and I know
many of you, like me, read some of the books you buy to resell. I
look at my entire inventory as my own personal library - at least
until a book sells. I know I read at least parts of many books I buy,
and I suspect you do too.
I am adding a book review section to my website and I am going to post
reviews that you all send in. If you have a particular book that you
like, send me a short review and I will post it. All reviews will be
sorted by the last name of the author of the book, and I will add
pages as you send your reviews in.
Check out the "Bookseller Book Reviews" page, this is a description of
the concept and the index page for the reviews. I think we can all
have some fun with this and I encourage you to participate.
The idea came to me as a result of some correspondence with an Ezine
Article author on a political post he made. He recommended that I
read a book that I had never heard of. I did a search of my inventory
for any books by the same author and discovered that I had the book he
suggested I read. I haven't finished reading it yet, but I am really
enjoying it so far. I got to wondering how many other books I might
have that others have found to be worthwhile reading, and the idea of
having my website visitors submit reviews would be a good way of
finding out what others have found to be good reading.
There is no way I can read all the books I get, but if a reader
suggests a great book, I might look for it when I am scouting and buy
it if only to read it for myself.
Let's see what we can do with this, as booksellers we should be able
to put together some very respectable reviews. I welcome any and all
book reviews, so please start sending them in.
